Keppel would like to thank our amazing Child Nutrition Services Team for their collective strong, daily efforts to provide students with access to school meals during National School Lunch Week, October 11th-15th.
Reminder: October 20, 2021 is a non-student day.
Please be advised of street closures along Palmdale Boulevard between 90th Street E and 140th Street E from October 1st - November 15th. This will impact school drop off and pick up areas, especially for Daisy Gibson Elementary School.
Today the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) honored two incredible Keppel Union Teachers of the Year at its 40th Annual event. Congratulations to the LACOE / KUSD Teachers of the Year, Mrs. Amanda Montgomery-Snell (2021-22) and Mrs. Anna Paliza (2020-21)!
The first day of school for the 21-22 school year is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 11th. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily. Please send students with a mask and know that our schools will follow all safety protocols. We look forward to "Opening Doors to Infinite Possibilities" to students and supporting them in a successful and rewarding school year.
Congratulations to Alpine's 8th grade class of 2021 on their promotion to high school! Your resilience throughout the last year has been unparalleled. We are all very proud of you. Go out into the world and continue to make your Alpine family proud. A huge thank you to our entire team that worked so hard to make our drive through promotion special for our 8th grade students.
The week of May 3rd was Teacher Appreciation Week. The 2020-2021 school year was unlike any school year that any of us have ever experienced, and our teachers at Alpine have worked so hard this year. Thank you Alpine teachers for always going the extra mile to help our students. You are greatly appreciated. A huge thank you to the Alpine staff and families for showering our teachers with love and appreciation. We are all so lucky to have the support of our staff, families, and community.
Friday, May 7th was Lunch Super Hero Day at Alpine. Because our cafeteria staff works so hard, Alpine students honored them all week with letters of appreciation and thank you cards. We are so lucky to have Daniel Weaver, Michelle Oliver, and Fidelia Herrera at Alpine! Rain or shine, they work so hard to feed our students and our community. They really are our Superheroes!
Learning is in full force at Alpine! Our Seventh Grade students are safely experimenting with the use of levers in Mr. Kornachuk's science class.
Alpine is so happy to have students from all grade levels back on campus for in person learning. We officially have students in all grade levels on campus!
Now that the schools are open, individuals may be experiencing increased concern or anxiety. Please consider engaging in a free informational seminar with our partnering agency, Familias Unidas, sponsored by the Keppel Union School District. We care about our students, their families, our staff, and the Keppel learning community!
To celebrate our students, and thanks to the support of some of our amazing sponsors like Mattel, Home Depot, Bombas Socks, Jennifer Garner, Baby2Baby, and Save the Children, backpacks were stuffed with welcome items for all kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) students in the district.
Registration for the RISE Program is now open. Register online or visit your child's school office. Spaces are limited.
I am posting the bus routes provided for us by the transportation department.
We are so excited to have welcomed our first group of students back on campus this week! Our staff here at Alpine has been working very hard to prepare everything for the return of our Bobcats.
Welcome back Bobcats! We are excited to have so many of you returning to in-person instruction. We are preparing all the classrooms to make sure you are all kept safe. Please be sure you bring a water bottle labeled with your name with you every day. We will be providing more information as it becomes available. We look forward to seeing you.
