Please be advised of street closures along Palmdale Boulevard between 90th Street E and 140th Street E from October 1st - November 15th. This will impact school drop off and pick up areas, especially for Daisy Gibson Elementary School.

Today the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) honored two incredible Keppel Union Teachers of the Year at its 40th Annual event. Congratulations to the LACOE / KUSD Teachers of the Year, Mrs. Amanda Montgomery-Snell (2021-22) and Mrs. Anna Paliza (2020-21)!

The first day of school for the 21-22 school year is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 11th. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily. Please send students with a mask and know that our schools will follow all safety protocols. We look forward to "Opening Doors to Infinite Possibilities" to students and supporting them in a successful and rewarding school year.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has lifted the lockdown at Lake Los Angeles Elementary after ensuring the area was safe. The lockdown was put in place after shots were fired approximately four blocks from the school. Families may now pick up their children from the morning classes at Lake Los Angeles. As an added precaution we have cancelled in-person learning for afternoon classes for today.

Lake Los Angeles is now on lockdown due to police activity in the area. As soon as more details are available, an update will be shared.

Now that the schools are open, individuals may be experiencing increased concern or anxiety. Please consider engaging in a free informational seminar with our partnering agency, Familias Unidas, sponsored by the Keppel Union School District. We care about our students, their families, our staff, and the Keppel learning community!

To celebrate our students, and thanks to the support of some of our amazing sponsors like Mattel, Home Depot, Bombas Socks, Jennifer Garner, Baby2Baby, and Save the Children, backpacks were stuffed with welcome items for all kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) students in the district.

Registration for the RISE Program is now open. Register online or visit your child's school office. Spaces are limited.
